Feed your body. Change your life.

  personal note from darshana

Support is essential.

Yet sometimes it's really hard to get it and especially ask for it.

My week has been a series of needing support….and then embracing the cycle of the mind.

Sounds like this… thinking I shouldn't need it, wanting it, doubting if I need it and then not asking, not knowing how to ask for it, getting it but in a different way than my mind wanted it, being disappointed by some of the support , being totally relieved that I asked for it and feeling a sigh of relief…

Anyone else know what I'm talking about?

So I have to apologize for not getting this out to you on Tuesday.
Pilar is in Spain this week at a family wedding and I realized once again how great she supports not only me but the Fruition Community.
THANKS PILAR!

I also had to go to urgent care this week and I was shocked-once again-at the health care in our culture. It's not that I haven't been to urgent care or even the doctor's office before and had to wait for hours before I could see someone but each time I go I am always amazed.

I was reminded and grateful that I have spent time educating myself about my body and my health. Finding the resources and people who can educate us is also a process.

Below is a list of tips for a healthy and extraordinary life (adapted from lululemon athletic stores). I have also added some additional resources that I have found helpful in my healing process and I want to share it with you.
If you have healers or places you want to share with the fruition community send me an email at darshana@fruitionhealth.com
I'm in the process of putting together an amazing resource book for all of you.

tips for a healthy and extraordinary life

Drink Fresh Water and as much water as you can. Water flushes out toxins from your body and keeps your brain sharp.

Breathe: this lets you live in the moment.
Take a breathe right now, I have this phrase on my screen saver—it's a great reminder throughout my day.

Stretch: this releases toxins from your muscles.
Even for just for 5 minutes. Actually stand up right now and raise your arms above your head and stretch…. (you can even make a sound if you feel like releasing some tension)

Inhale the pure salt air that flows over the water.
It will energize you!
Bay area people go the beach whenever you can and breathe the air, you wont be sorry!

Do yoga so you can remain active as you age.

Sweat once a day to regenerate your skin.
One hour of aerobic exercise will release endorphins to regenerate cells and offset stress. A daily hit of athletic induced endorphins will give you the power to make better decisions and help you be at peace with yourself.
Join a gym or better yet outdoor “boot camps”. One of our Fruition Health clients (Sara) is a boot camp leader. Call or email us if you want more info on her awesome boot camp workouts!

Listen, listen, listen, then ask questions.
Check out the following places:

learningtolisten.info-- a great organization dedicated to educating people on learning to listen to the deepest part of themselves.
I'm co-leading a 4 day retreat with them in June

Dance, Sing, Floss and Travel.

Be creative: Do one thing a day that scares you.

Relax: Stress is related to 99% of all illnesses.

Connect: Friends are more important than money.

Be grateful: Wake up and realize you are surrounded by amazing friends and if you're not, go find some!

Open your heart: Jealousy works the opposite way you want it to.

Be generous: Compliments from the Heart elevate others' spirit and will often result in an encouraging word from someone else…a domino effect!

BE MINDFUL OF WHAT YOU TAKE INTO YOUR BODY : Sodas will be known as the cigarettes of the future. Colas are not a substitute for water. They're just another cheap drug made to look great by advertisers. To learn more about food and health join us at www.fruitionhealth.com- we'd love to support you!
